OUR NEED

A base and launching pad to reach out to Western Europe and the Americas.

Land for antennas, and a building for studios, offices and staff accommodations.

RADIO 74 has never owned land or a building. We own no vehicles.  We rent studio and office space, as well as our 10 transmitter and relay sites in France.  We urgently need a larger, less expensive location for this rapidly expanding broadcasting ministry.

Studio technicians, Paul Myers & Jonathan Taramini,
at work preparing programs for broadcast to our
listeners in 100  countries from our present overcrowded
facility.

The tiny master control room of RADIO 74 - Europe,
also serves as the main production studio for French
language station, RADIO AMITIE, and for
 RADIO 74 INTERNATIONALE-AMERICAS.
No space remains in the building for another studio.

MUCH CHEAPER TO PURCHASE LAND AND TO CONSTRUCT A MODEST STUDIO-OFFICE BUILDING

To assure our survival and stability, RADIO 74 needs to own a small piece of land in an industrial zone (about 50,000 sq. feet) on which to construct a modest studio and office building of about 4,000 sq. feet.  The building must include one apartment for a live-in technician and family, and four small studio apartments for short term volunteers and students.  We also need space for our growing antenna "farm"...satellite, microwave, FM and Digital Radio transmission towers and antennas.

Residential land is very expensive in the part of France along the boarder with Geneva, Switzerland ($45 per square foot).  But industrial land is much more reasonable ($4 to $8 per square foot).  The land we need will cost between $200,000 and $400,000 at current Dollar-Euro exchange rates.

A concrete block structure, plumbed and wired, will cost about $500,000 if built by a local contractor.  But RADIO 74 staff and volunteers ...why not assisted by skilled volunteers from North America! ...could put up the building at half price, around $250,000.

Total project cost:  $450,000 to 650,000

Our annual operating budget, about $280,000, contains no fat.  Not a penny can be pinched towards this urgent project.  Success appears humanly impossible.  And with the fast shrinking dollar coupled with gloomy economic forcasts, the challenge has multiplied.  But with God, all things are possible.

Please pray with us asking God to supply... that He will touch hearts, for an outpouring of love to see this project through to victory.

We seek neither comfort nor luxury... only that God's kingdom be rapidly advanced... particularly were the advance of the gospel is struggling most, here in Western Europe and in North America.

We thank you in advance and are deeply grateful for YOUR contributions!
