Our old satellite up link equipment failed in the heat of last summer.
This equipment transmits our program from our main studio in France up to an Intelsat satellite located over Brazil, reaching across the Atlantic to our down-link station in Illinois. There, our signal is turned around and retransmitted onto the AMC-4 satellite into homes across North America, onto PAS 9 which covers Central and South America, and to internet listeners around the world subscribed to the IP box system (learn more).
After several weeks of intermittent transmission, we got back on the air in August using an even older used unit. New equipment was installed this autumn but has not yet been paid for. $20,000 are urgently needed, funds we do not have.
